Ronald Nutter Injured in Grady County Crash While Securing Trailer

Ronald Nutter, 72, sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred on August 25, 2025, in Grady County, Oklahoma. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the incident took place on U.S. Highway 81 near County Road 1440 at approximately 6:00 p.m. Nutter was outside his vehicle attempting to reattach a trailer that had become detached when a series of collisions occurred behind him.

A second vehicle, driven by Stacy Bowers, was parked behind Nutter’s trailer with hazard lights activated. A third vehicle, operated by 74-year-old William Smith, struck Bowers' vehicle, causing it to hit Nutter’s trailer. The force of the impact pushed the trailer into Nutter, resulting in his injury. Smith, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision remains under investigation.
