Ronnie Adams Killed at Stellantis Engine Plant in Dundee, Michigan: Crushed by Mechanical Arm

On March 10, 2025, a devastating industrial accident at the Stellantis engine plant in Dundee, Michigan, resulted in the death of Ronnie Adams, a 62-year-old skilled tradesman from Detroit. Adams, who was part of a specialized crew retooling the facility for new production, was fatally crushed by a mechanical arm that pinned him against a conveyor on the assembly line. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene at approximately 1:25 a.m., and Adams was rushed to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he was pronounced deceased. His wife, Shamenia Stewart-Adams, shared her grief in a public statement, saying, “Our family is deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of my husband Ronald E. Adams Sr. Please keep us lifted in your prayers as we prepare for the days ahead.” The United Auto Workers (UAW) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have launched investigations into the incident, amid growing concerns over safety protocols during the plant’s $150 million retooling project.
