Serafin Corona Involved in Multi-Vehicle Collision Near Moses Lake
On June 13, 2025, a three-vehicle collision occurred on State Route 17 near Moses Lake, Washington, approximately nine miles south of the city near milepost 41. The Washington State Patrol reported that the incident took place at around 5:22 p.m. when a 17-year-old driver, Gideon E. Tuller of Moses Lake, operating a 2006 Honda Accord, failed to slow down for a northbound emergency vehicle with activated lights and sirens. Tuller’s vehicle struck the car ahead, driven by 72-year-old Serafin Corona of Warden, causing Corona’s vehicle to collide with a third vehicle and subsequently veer into a ditch on the northbound side of the highway.
Serafin Corona was transported to Samaritan Hospital for treatment of injuries, which were reported as non-life-threatening. A passenger in the third vehicle, 58-year-old Angela Hernandez Espinosa of Moses Lake, was also taken to the hospital with injuries of a similar nature. Tuller and his two teenage passengers, who were wearing seatbelts, sustained no injuries. The Washington State Patrol issued Tuller a citation for following too closely. Authorities confirmed that no drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision. All vehicles involved sustained damage, with Tuller’s Honda Accord deemed a total loss. The highway remained open during the emergency response.
