Tahirou Diallo Fatally Shot by Passenger in North Richland Hills

On May 7, 2025, Tahirou Diallo, a 60-year-old rideshare driver from Hurst, Texas, was fatally shot by a passenger in North Richland Hills, Texas. The incident occurred shortly after midnight in the 8000 block of Mickey Street, where police discovered Diallo’s sport utility vehicle parked in the road. Responding officers found Diallo with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Nearby, authorities encountered 30-year-old Kane Roden of North Richland Hills, who was in a highly intoxicated state with a firearm beside him. Roden was arrested as the suspect in the homicide, and no additional individuals are being sought in connection with the crime.

The North Richland Hills Police Department has indicated that Diallo and Roden were not acquainted prior to the incident, and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Diallo was employed by Uber, which issued a statement expressing condolences and confirming cooperation with law enforcement. Roden, now detained in Tarrant County Jail with a bond of $520,000, also faces unrelated charges from another agency, including continuous violence against the family and violation of a bond/protective order.
