Angela Lea Johnson and Jeffrey James Johnson Injured in I-35 Collision – Oakland Township, MN, October 18, 2025

On October 18, 2025, a multi-vehicle crash occurred on northbound Interstate 35 near County Road 46 in Oakland Township, Freeborn County, Minnesota. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 1999 Ford Explorer, traveling southbound in the northbound lanes, collided head-on with a 2025 Honda CRV. A 1997 Chevrolet GMT-400 traveling northbound subsequently impacted the Ford following the initial collision.

The driver of the Honda CRV, Angela Lea Johnson, a 54-year-old resident of Medina, Minnesota, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for emergency treatment. Her passenger, Jeffrey James Johnson, age 55 and also from Medina, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Mayo Clinic in Albert Lea. Road conditions at the time were dry, and authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the incident. The crash remains under investigation by local and state officials.
