Annea Wilson and Leo Shepherd Killed in Salt Lake City I-15 Wrong-Way Crash – November 29, 2025

On November 29, 2025, a wrong-way collision on Interstate 15 in Salt Lake City resulted in the deaths of two teenagers, Annea Wilson, 17, and Leo Shepherd, 18. The incident occurred when 21-year-old Jose Angel Torres Jimenez drove southbound in the northbound lanes near the 2100 block and collided head-on with a Nissan Rogue carrying the victims. The vehicle caught fire upon impact, and both teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Jimenez was immediately arrested and faces multiple charges, including two counts of murder, forcible sexual abuse, aggravated assault, misdemeanor DUI, and violations related to a learner’s permit. Authorities report that the driver was allegedly involved in a sexual assault incident shortly before entering the highway in the wrong direction. Law enforcement continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and the prior events leading to the fatal collision.
