Ava Ahlander Dies Following Music Festival Accident in Salt Lake City, Utah – October 13, 2025
On October 13, 2025, Ava Ahlander, 23, succumbed to injuries sustained during a storm-related accident at the Redwest Music Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah. According to Salt Lake Police, Ahlander was struck by a large plank from scaffolding that fell near her vehicle as she attempted to seek shelter from strong winds exceeding 60 mph. The incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. near 1055 W. North Temple and was classified as a “freak accident.”
Ahlander, originally from American Fork and residing in the Seattle area, was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Medical personnel determined she had lost brain activity, and she was kept on life support long enough for her family to say farewell. Her passing was marked by an act of posthumous generosity, as her organs were donated. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the scaffolding collapse remains ongoing.
