Avery Hackbarth Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 7 in Winsted Township

On August 20, 2025, a two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of westbound Highway 7 and northbound Cable Avenue in Winsted Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2010 Honda CR-V turning onto Cable Avenue was struck by an eastbound 2020 Ford F-150. The impact resulted in at least one of the vehicles coming to rest in a ditch.

Avery Melvin Hackbarth, 34, of Stewart, Minnesota, was identified as the driver of the Honda CR-V. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Glencoe ER for medical attention. The driver of the Ford, 84-year-old Marlin Woodrow Hecksel of Watertown, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Waconia Hospital. Both individuals were reportedly wearing seat belts, and no alcohol involvement was noted.
