Bruce and Cynthia Parsons Survive Highway Collision East of Sequim – October 21, 2025
In Sequim, Washington, on October 21, 2025, Bruce Parsons, 70, and Cynthia Parsons, 70, of Port Ludlow, were involved in a serious highway collision east of the city. The couple was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 101 in a 2017 Subaru Outback when Arthur Hetzel, 64, of Marysville, attempting a left turn onto Pierce Road, failed to yield and collided with their vehicle. Both vehicles subsequently rolled and came to rest upside down in a highway ditch.
The Parsons sustained minor injuries and were transported to Olympic Medical Center for evaluation. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision, while Hetzel, who was not restrained, later died from injuries despite efforts by bystanders and medical personnel. Drugs or alcohol may have contributed to the incident. The collision resulted in both vehicles being totaled and temporary closure of the westbound lanes.
