Macaria Espino Killed in Chelan County Head-On Collision on State Route 97 – October 21, 2025

A fatal head-on collision occurred in Chelan County, Washington, on the afternoon of October 21, 2025, resulting in the death of 42-year-old Bridgeport resident Macaria Ambriz Espino. According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash took place at approximately 2:41 p.m. on State Route 97, just north of the Beebe Bridge. Preliminary findings indicate that a southbound 2019 Ford F-350, driven by a motorist from East Wenatchee, crossed the centerline and struck a northbound 2007 Hyundai Sonata operated by Espino.

Espino was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet determined why the pickup failed to remain in its lane. Road and weather conditions were not cited as contributing factors. The incident remains under active investigation by the Washington State Patrol.
