William Schmiege Injured in Motorcycle Collision in Braham, Minnesota on October 9, 2025
A traffic collision involving two vehicles occurred in Braham, Minnesota, on October 9, 2025, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to one motorcyclist. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 52-year-old William John Schmiege of Braham was riding a 2012 Harley Davidson Touring motorcycle northbound on Highway 107 when he stopped to make a left turn onto 421st Avenue NE. At that time, a 2016 GMC Yukon, also traveling northbound, made contact with Schmiege's motorcycle at the intersection.
The driver of the Yukon, 54-year-old Curtis Jay Soderstrom, also of Braham, was uninjured in the incident. Authorities report that road conditions were dry and neither alcohol nor drugs were involved. Schmiege, who was not wearing a helmet at the time, was transported to Regions Hospital for treatment. Local emergency responders from Isanti County, Lifelink, and Allina Ambulance assisted at the scene.
