Erika Perkins Involved in Fatal Highway 16 Crash Near Gorst, Washington | October 9, 2025
On October 9, 2025, Erika Perkins, a 46-year-old resident of Gig Harbor, Washington, was seriously injured in a vehicular accident on Highway 16 near Gorst. The Chevrolet Trailblazer she was traveling in, driven by a 61-year-old Bremerton man, left the roadway at approximately 2:30 p.m. near the former Mattress Ranch location and crashed into a ditch. Perkins was properly restrained by a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Both Perkins and the driver were transported to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale. Initial reports indicated Perkins was flown from the scene and succumbed to injuries while in transit. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, is suspected of distracted driving. Authorities confirmed no drugs or alcohol were involved, and charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
