Roger Rohus Injured in Three-Car Head-On Collision in Kennewick, Washington | October 9, 2025

On October 9, 2025, a three-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 397 near the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick, Washington. According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident was caused by a driver distracted by his cellphone, who drifted into the oncoming lane and caused a head-on crash. Roger D. Rohus, 39, of Kennewick, was driving a Ford F-150 pickup involved in the collision. He sustained injuries and was transported to Trios Southridge Hospital for treatment.

The driver responsible for the crash, Carlos J. Espinoza, 36, was cited for second-degree negligent driving and failure to wear a seat belt. The crash also involved a semi-truck driven by Atenael V. Nava, 46, who was unharmed. The incident blocked all lanes of Highway 397 for approximately one hour, causing significant traffic delays. The investigation remains ongoing.
