Fatal Shooting of Emad Alharbi in Salina, New York – September 28, 2025
On September 28, 2025, a fatal incident occurred in Salina, New York, resulting in the death of 31-year-old Emad Alharbi. According to law enforcement records, Alharbi was fatally shot by Alec Greiger, a 30-year-old white male, at the Mattydale Express convenience store located on Brewerton Road.
After the shooting, law enforcement traced Greiger to his residence six blocks from the crime scene. The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office attempted negotiations during a standoff with Greiger. The situation ended when Greiger died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The event has been officially categorized as a suicide under police duress.
