Pang Foua Yang and Steve Phongdesawat Fatally Struck in Separate Twin Cities Pedestrian Accidents – Minneapolis and St. Paul, September 2025

Two pedestrians, Pang Foua Yang and Steve Phongdesawat, lost their lives in unrelated traffic incidents in the Twin Cities during the final weekend of September 2025. On Sunday, September 28, 36-year-old Pang Foua Yang of St. Paul was fatally struck by a vehicle in the 1000 block of Stinson Street. The vehicle reportedly came to a stop in a residential backyard. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver remained on-site and cooperated with investigators.

Just a day earlier, around 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, 32-year-old Steve Phongdesawat of New Hope was struck by a motorist while walking along Maryland Avenue near Clarence Street in St. Paul. Emergency personnel found him unconscious; he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver, who claimed not to have seen Phongdesawat, called 911 and stayed at the scene. Neither driver in these fatal incidents has been arrested as of the latest reports.
