Lawrence Boyd IV Killed in Traverse City Parking Deck Shooting on November 15, 2025

On the evening of November 15, 2025, Lawrence Boyd IV, a Traverse City parking services employee, was fatally shot while on duty inside the Larry C. Hardy Parking Deck. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m., prompting an immediate law enforcement response. A 17-year-old from Leelanau County has been charged as an adult with multiple felonies, including first-degree murder, attempted murder of an officer, and possession of a stolen firearm.

Security camera footage linked both the 17-year-old and an 18-year-old to the incident.
