Lucille Olivia Wambeke Injured in Baxter, Minnesota Highway Collision on December 1, 2025

On December 1, 2025, a two-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 371 in Baxter, Crow Wing County, resulting in injuries to two elderly women. Lucille Olivia Wambeke, 81, of Taunton, Minnesota, was operating a southbound 2022 Chevrolet Blazer when it was struck by a northbound 2019 Chevrolet Equinox attempting a left turn onto Wise Road. Both drivers, including Patricia Helen Hartmann, 82, of Pierz, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the road conditions were dry at the time of the collision. Emergency responders, including the Brainerd Fire Department, assisted at the scene. The incident remains classified as a standard traffic collision with no indications of contributing weather factors.
