Mary Ruth Burns Injured in Highway 109 and 405th Avenue Crash in Delavan Township, Minnesota on February 13, 2026

A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 109 and 405th Avenue in Faribault County left two drivers injured on the evening of February 13, 2026.

According to authorities, the collision occurred at approximately 7:59 p.m. when a 2017 Kia Niro traveling northbound on County Road 11 entered the intersection and struck a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 that was traveling westbound on Highway 109. Mary Ruth Burns, 47, of Mapleton, Minnesota, was driving the GMC Sierra at the time of the crash. Burns sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to United Hospital in Blue Earth for treatment. A passenger in the Sierra, Jason Lynn Berns, 48, of Mapleton, was not injured. The driver of the Kia, James Anthony Schug, 54, of Delavan, Minnesota, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the same hospital. Authorities reported that all occupants were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not suspected as a factor. Road conditions were reported as dry at the time of the collision.
