Natalia Mendez Killed in Chicago, Illinois Crash Near Rate Field on November 2, 2025
A fatal collision occurred on the night of November 2, 2025, in the 300 block of West 35th Street near Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois. According to police reports, a 24-year-old woman driving eastbound lost control of her vehicle, crossed the median, and entered oncoming traffic. The red sedan she operated, carrying 21-year-old passenger Natalia Andrea Acevedo Mendez, was struck by a black SUV traveling westbound.
Both women in the sedan sustained traumatic injuries and were transported to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where they were pronounced dead. The occupants of the SUV were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the cause of the driver’s loss of control remains ongoing.
