Rudy Stuffel Identified as Pedestrian Killed in Downtown Peoria, Illinois Accident – October 27, 2025
On the morning of October 27, 2025, a fatal pedestrian collision occurred in Downtown Peoria, Illinois. Authorities reported that officers with the Peoria Police Department responded at approximately 6:50 a.m. to the intersection of Northeast Monroe Street and Spalding Avenue following a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. Upon arrival, law enforcement found a man deceased at the scene. The Peoria County Coroner later identified the victim as 71-year-old Rudy O. Stuffel.
According to Coroner Jamie Harwood, Stuffel sustained multiple blunt force trauma injuries and was pronounced dead at 7:29 a.m. The driver involved in the incident was uninjured and cooperated with police during the initial investigation. The cause of the collision remains under investigation by local authorities.
