Tyler McGurl Killed in Lincoln County, Oklahoma I-44 Accident on December 4, 2025

On December 4, 2025, Tyler McGurl, a 37-year-old man from Oklahoma City, died after his vehicle was struck by a semi-trailer on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 44 near mile marker 159.5, close to Warwick and Wellston in Lincoln County. McGurl had reportedly run out of fuel, pulled over to the shoulder, and contacted authorities prior to the collision.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the semi-trailer attempted to avoid McGurl’s vehicle but clipped the rear, pushing it into an embankment. McGurl succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash, while the truck driver reportedly remained unharmed. The incident highlights the dangers posed to motorists who are stranded on high-speed roadways.
